Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) The Senior Director, EMR Strategy & Contracting is responsible for executing the health system activation for integrated UHC EMR Point-of-Care solutions and manages EMR vendor implementations with major health systems. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Executes the EMR vendor and health system strategy for UHC EMR point-of-care solutions in collaboration with UHN network contracting leads, regional vice presidents and ensures health system prioritization is managed for priorities across UHC based on organizational goals
  • Discover and engage with EMR vendors and health system partners to secure health system integration with UHC's non cloud based EMR partners for adoption of Point-of-Care solutions within Epic, Cerner and other on prem EMR systems
  • Serve as the UHC EMR Point-of-Care solutions subject matter expert providing education and promotion of EMR Point-of-Care solutions internally and externally as needed
  • Provides oversight and strategic guidance to EMR contracting staff UHN to execute on the organizations goals for point of care adoption across the network
  • Responsible for managing Point-of-Care Health System Pipeline and ensuring UHG priority health systems are engaged, contracted and implemented with a UHC integration partner
  • Responsible for coordination of Point-of-Care health system pipeline priorities with all UHN regional leads and national leaders and acts as point person for engaging integration partners between the health systems and the vendors
  • Manages ongoing health system pipeline review with EMR integration vendors on a weekly basis and prepares reports to leadership audiences on status, challenges and adoption projections
  • Participates in ongoing EMR vendor oversight including compliance, vendor payment escalations, risk reviews and routine business reviews with the vendors
  • During implementation phase - remove obstacles/roadblocks to enable success of the team, execution of defined scope of work and preparation of reporting to UHN, UHC and Optum leadership Steering Committees
  • Work with business partners on the development of business strategies to secure health system adoption for Point-of-Care solutions
  • Work with Optum business segments in the advancement of Point of Care Solutions within Optum Care and the external payer market
  • Participate in advancement of UHC's interoperability interest with CMS and state regulators
  • Provide coaching and learning opportunities to Network Engagement Manager resources
  • Direct prioritization of providers for activation with Point of Care solutions within the EMR team, regional teams and with EMR vendors
  • Contribute to business planning and value strategy exercises that drive higher utilization of Point of Care Solutions You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
    • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, Finance or related field
    • Minimum 10 years of managed care operations and provider relations experience required
    • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in project management roles with proven ability to deliver
    • Proven knowledge of the EMR marketplace
    • Experience in provider operations including prior authorization, provider networks and claim platforms
    • Solid presentation skills and ability to negotiate with senior level executives
    • Exposure to cross functional business processes in a matrixed environment within the healthcare industry
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely and the ability to facilitate meetings
    • Advanced in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Skill and experience with Visio, Project, and SharePoint a plus
    • Ability to travel as required up to 25%

      • Provides subject matter expertise in areas including business process, risk identification & mitigation, resource allocation and facilitation as well as health plan operations
      • Solid leadership capabilities with emphasis on cross-functional leadership
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience presenting in front of executives

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
