life's best work.(sm)The Global Strategy and Risk Management (GSRM)
Team leads partner and vendor management for UHC Operations across
E&I, Government Ops, and Provider for Front Office, Back
Office, Broker Risk and Global Risk functions. The GSRM team:
- Defines the strategic footprint across partners and
geography
- Manages partner and vendor relationships
- Leads vendor risk management activities including risk
assessments, risk audits, and remediation efforts
- Conducts financial analysis and reporting including data and
tool development
- Provides strategic operations support and on-demand
analyticsThe Global Strategy Lead is responsible to deliver a
strategic Global Operations environment through geographic, and
vendor performance-based management within the Business Process
Outsourcing (BPO) vendor portfolio (BPO includes call center,
claims, analytics, data processing and return mail operation
commodities). The current Strategic Vendor portfolio encompasses
15+ vendors, inclusive of Optum Global Advantage (OGA) operations
in India, the Philippines, and the United States. -The role will
help define and implement UnitedHealthcare's (UHC's) Global
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) strategy to achieve business
priorities that includes delivering high quality and NPS, the
reduction of operating costs and attainment of financial goals.The
primary focus of this role is to understand and align to specific
Line of Business objectives, complete detailed analysis to identify
and define improvement opportunities directly supporting the line
of business performance and financial strategies across our current
(and future) vendor landscape. This includes in-depth analysis of
vendor spend data and contract terms, collaborating and building
relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and
identifying and driving opportunities forward.This position will
interact with the various Lines of Business at UHC and Optum,
interact directly with vendors, as well as have leadership
responsibilities for a small team of direct reports. -Required

- Collaborate with BPO business ops teams and align and/or
influence their strategy to optimize the BPO vendor portfolio

- Actively provide effective vendor management to ensure vendor
partners are meeting service levels and key performance metrics,
are market competitive and adding value for UHC -
- Partner and effectively communicate with cross-functional
leaders and stakeholders across the enterprise including VP's,
COOs, CFOs -
- Support strategic sourcing and optimization activities: -data
gathering and analysis and developing value propositions -
- Document, coordinate and/or catalog vendor analysis and
optimization opportunities, vendor management information and
vendor capabilities
- Become a subject matter expert within the BPO vendor
portfolio
- Review and understand vendor contract terms and financials to
gather and support financial management activities
- Keep leaders and business stakeholders apprised of optimization
and vendor management opportunities
- Build and foster effective partnerships with internal
stakeholders and vendors
- Understand UHC's BPO operations and processes to better align
the vendor portfolio for optimizationYou'll be rewarded and

- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or another relevant
field
- 5+ years of experience identifying savings opportunities -
- 3+ years of experience managing or working with third-party
vendors -
- 3+ years of experience using analytical skills in performing
research and analyzing data -
- 2+ years of experience in collaborating on and influencing
business strategy -
- Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including
v-lookups and pivot tables -
- Intermediate proficient in MS PowerPoint -Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in vendor sourcing, procurement and contracting
-
- Experience in managing BPO vendors and/or supporting BPO
directly -
- Experience in Tableau or Microsoft Power BI reporting
- Experience quickly gaining credibility, partnering with
business leaders, and exhibiting executive presence - -
- Experience prioritizing and meeting deadlines, while responding
to demands of multiple stakeholders and vendors - -
- Proven independent worker who can rely on extensive experience
and judgment to plan and accomplish goals -
- Superior conceptual, analytical, and financial modeling
skills
- Excellent demonstrated business and financial acumen, with high
level of attention to detail -
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
with executive leaders (internal & external) and vendor partnersTo

$97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada
residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors
including but not limited to education, work experience,
