The role positions experienced, motivated professionals on dynamic, high-performing teams to develop critical thinking, sophisticated financial modeling, and extensive communication skills within a an exciting and fast-paced work environment. As a key member of our Corporate Development team, you will play an integral role in projects that have the potential to change the healthcare industry while gaining extensive exposure to key executive leaders throughout our organization, as well as to senior management of companies targeted for acquisition. Primary Responsibilities:Evaluating active M&A targets to synthesize their business offerings, strategic value, and key drivers of revenues and profits to UnitedHealth Group Senior Executives & Board MembersBuilding and reviewing core financial statement projections, valuation models (DCF, transaction and trading comparables, LBO) and earnings per share accretion / dilution analysisManaging the due diligence process on potential acquisition opportunities to validate the investment thesis and associated risks by coordinating across large internal diligence teams of functional subject matter expertsIdentifying, researching and evaluating M&A industry trends, potential inorganic growth initiatives, and M&A target companies across healthcare sectors through special projects for executive leaders You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience4+ years of accounting/finance and M&A experience Due diligence experience, particularly financial due diligenceSolid accounting, finance, communication, and analytical skills, as is demonstrated leadership Advanced MS Excel skills Travel and work schedule flexibility Preferred Qualifications:BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Math MBA or CPA 5+ years of experience with a public accounting firm, corporate finance, corporate development, investment banking or private equity firmTransaction Advisory Services (TAS) experienceTeam player with solid attention to detailProactive approach to learning new skill set and accelerated learning curveAbility to handle multiple, competing priorities To protect the health and safety of our workforce, patients and communities we serve, UnitedHealth Group and its affiliate companies require all employees to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status prior to beginning employment.
