Job Description:
Waste Management, Inc., a leader in environmental services
across North America, is seeking a highly skilled Solid Waste
Engineer III to join our dedicated team. This position will focus
on overseeing the design and implementation of waste management
systems that emphasize sustainability, recycling, and renewable
energy generation. The ideal candidate will have a robust
background in civil or environmental engineering, with extensive
knowledge of solid waste treatment technologies and regulatory
compliance. As a Solid Waste Engineer III, you will be responsible
for leading project teams, designing advanced waste disposal
solutions, and enhancing our operational efficiencies to support
WM's commitment to environmental stewardship. Design and develop
sophisticated solid waste management systems including landfill
operations, recycling facilities, and waste-to-energy projects.
Manage projects from conceptual design to implementation, ensuring
compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate
with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability and
environmental safety into project scope and design. Analyze and
optimize operational processes for maximum efficiency and
environmental benefit. Prepare technical and regulatory
documentation for project approvals and permits. Conduct risk
assessments and provide solutions to mitigate environmental
impacts. Monitor project progress, budget, and timeline adherence,
conducting revisions and updates as necessary. Expertise in
environmental or civil engineering related to solid waste
management. Strong project management and leadership abilities.
Proficient in CAD and other engineering software. Ability to
prepare detailed compliance reports and documentation. Excellent
analytical and problem-solving skills. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Professional
Engineer (PE) license preferred. Certification from the Solid Waste
Association of North America (SWANA) or similar.
