Bring that passion to UnitedHealth Group and join us on a mission to help people live healthier lives. -As an Associate Director of VBC Performance Analytics Advancement in the Value Based Care and Population Health Division, you'll work with other high caliber people as you drive efficient and effective solutions to support the Value Based Systems of Care innovative models. You'll roll up your sleeves as you identify analytical needs and improvements in our reporting, manage partnerships with key informatics teams, and help define and align performance analytics across the multiple models being developed in support of a wider Value-Based System of Care rollout. When you get into the driver's seat of this role, you will be exposed to the Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lines of business. You'll be able to show your expertise in clinical metrics development, analytical skills, knowledge of clinical workflows, and in collaborating with various parts of our department and our technical team to drive meaningful process improvements. You'll be part of the Division's Program Management Office and will have direct accountability for driving our team's key performance scorecards and metric development, ensuring their needs are meet as new and innovative clinical models and value-based contracts are developed. This United Clinical Services role is part of the VBC and Population Health Management team which aligns population health management programs, improves medical / behavioral / social care integration, and shares analytics with providers, which improve care management. This program leverages marketplace shifts from fee for service to value-based care as we move providers along the risk continuum to enable more affordable care, better outcomes, and better patient satisfaction. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support, monitor, drive and report on service level agreement / SLA expectations with partnering Medical Informatics team accountable for producing, consolidating and distribution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly key performance metrics and scorecard reporting for the VBC team
  • Review and manage intake requests for reporting needs, issues, and enhancements to prioritize work for the Medical Informatics team
  • Escalate as appropriate delays in service levels to ensure VBC team has critical reporting to meet operational needs
  • Manage annual affordability target setting process, templates, and rollout with VBC Sr. Leadership team covering national, regional, market, and provider level target setting across clinical metrics for each LOB
  • Create compelling proposals for approval by Sr. Leadership to drive continued improvement and simplification in program performance evaluation
  • Manage the VBC National Reporting Catalogue maintenance and usage, and facilitate the data governance committee oversight work to continuously enhance efficiencies and value of reporting
  • Establish Data Governance Committee accountabilities to drive reporting aligned to business needs of current and new VBC models
  • Help identify opportunities for clinical metric simplification and sophistication across core VBC contracting models such as ACO, MaPCPi, Spectrum, HPP, etc.
  • Work with various Health Care Economics and LOB Strategy teams to support ongoing advancement in reporting needs and alignment across multiple HCE teams
  • Drive key reporting improvement projects to align sources of truth across various reporting services
  • Use clinical experience to set direction and assess ongoing needs - what are we trying to solve
  • Provides program operational support on team needs such as PMO team templates; FTE time study projects & analysis; Reporting for portfolio management; Leadership reporting from the iPredict tool; etc.
  • Uses project tools and PM knowledge including project charters, scope definition, RASCI, process flows, business requirement gathering, IRAADs, risk identification, project status reporting and project methodology in managing project work
  • Collaborates with applicable internal and external partners to implement projects

Required Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience with Senior Management presentations, ability to create proposals and influence and drive key messages with senior leaders
    • 5+ years of experience managing and analyzing clinical performance metrics and solutioning
    • 2+ years of experience executing programs supporting national level team
    • Proven detail oriented and advanced analytical skills used in problem solving
    • Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise
    • Ability to drive national solutions across different stakeholders creating alignment and agreement on business processes and requirements
    • Ability to work across multiple business areas (network, healthcare analytics, clinical SMEs, and medical directors)
    • Ability to create and drive stakeholder approval on scope definition, project charters and business requirements, actions items and issue resolution
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Advanced to Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Power Point
    • Proven strong analytical skills used in problem solving and analysis
    • Experience writing user stories in an agile development environment
    • Experience working with clinical content and clinical workflow or processes Preferred Qualifications:
      • Past work experience or a background in healthcare
      • Experience working in a cross-matrix organization
      • Experience creating performance reports using multiple data sources and services
      • Experience creating business process flows and creating user guides
