The Vendor Manager plays a key role in the Community and State Clinical Strategy organization. This position is responsible for developing, evaluating, scaling and managing industry-leading programs to help people live healthier lives. This position works with a number of internal and external partners to support innovative programs. The most impactful Vendor Managers maintain strong relationships with our external partners that help drive our business toward a better member experience and improved health outcomes for a variety of special populations, including low-income pregnant women, children, seniors, individuals with complex conditions, and people transitioning into a managed care environment.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. -This role can be based in Minnetonka, MN or telecommute. - Travel may be necessary up to 25%
Primary Responsibilities:
Create vendor standards and partner with cross-functional teams to identify and develop
partnerships that meet the needs of our members and state partners
Facilitate and maintain vendor relationships
Work with legal, compliance and procurement teams to negotiate and execute agreements with vendor partners
Conduct competitive analyses and recommend opportunities to improve our competitive position
Manage product lifecycle for a portfolio of solutions, identifying opportunities to scale, sunset, or modify programs to drive the best results for the organization
Establish goals and evaluation strategies to determine program effectiveness and evaluate vendor performance tied to contractual agreements for all vendors
Develop detailed project plans and effectively drive projects to successful completion, on schedule and within budget
Provide training and ongoing support to internal and / or external partners to ensure strong member and partner engagement and satisfaction
Work closely with proposal directors and writers to ensure accurate program descriptions are written into business proposals
Partner with marketing to develop launch and/or member communication campaigns
Considers long-range objectives, an enterprise view, and associated impacts when making decisions
Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished
Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required
Identify improvement areas and enhance efficiencies associated with vendor management.
Participate to formulate workflow processes, methods and policies for applying vendors

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of experience in project management, vendor management or program management
4+ years of Professional level experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Proven business analysis skills, including comfort with financial analyses

Preferred Qualifications:
Health care experience
Previous experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health - related programs
Strong knowledge of Medicaid population and those who serve them
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
Excellent work ethic and self-motivation
Ability to work across a matrix environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability work collaboratively and influence others
Excellent operational focus and detail oriented approach
Ability to prioritize work across multiple projects
Curious, adaptable, flexible, and able to work with changing direction and priorities
