Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)As Associate Director at UnitedHealth Group, you will oversee complex projects and processes that have strategic importance to our mission of helping people lead healthier lives and to help the health system work better for everyone. -The -Associate Director will be part of a team that oversees the end-to-end revenue processes, including premium and supplemental payment collection, working cross-functionally with IT, membership and many other teams across the organization to ensure revenue accuracy for our Community & State business. - This role will work closely with business partners and health plan leadership to identify opportunities within existing processes, provide insights on process efficiencies and provide project management of implementing process changes. -You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. -Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze all revenue streams and processes for our Medicaid and applicable Medicare markets to ensure revenue accuracy within Community and State
  • Review analytics to identify opportunities for revenue accuracy, including interpret and analyze the relationship between claims, eligibility, and premium payment data
  • Provide consultative advice on use of data elements as subject matter expert and interprets / summarizes analytical findings
  • Utilize and document an audit-style evaluation to identify opportunities for process improvements and gap closure
  • Project manage implementation of process improvements across teams
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and financial outcomes of revenue accuracy initiatives
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the end-to-end revenue reconciliation process, including specific health plan nuances
  • Lead the design and creation of management report(s) of revenue accuracy results, specific to health plans and rolled up nationally
  • Act as liaison / subject matter expert to health plan leaders
  • Train analytics team to interpret and analyze claims, eligibility and premium payment data to identify revenue accuracy opportunitiesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Analytics, Actuarial or equivalent work experience
    • 4+ years of health insurance-related experience specific to reconciliation of government programs payments, funding, and eligibility
    • 2+ years of experience leading strategic process or program development
    • Steady progress towards ASA; or ASA or FSA credentialsPreferred Qualifications:
      • Accounting degree
      • Experience working with Medicaid and/or Medicare programs
      • Experience working in consulting position or environment
      • Auditing and financial analytics skills
      • Excellent communication skills: ability to concisely summarize and communicate results of complex analytics
      • Comfortable with ambiguity
