This new role will be a part of the new Portfolio Deployment & Plan Design Strategy pillar within the IFP Product Management & Regulatory Alignment. Interested applicants should be motivated by new growth opportunities, have excellent attention to detail, be able to translate strategic thinking into execution, and have a passion for insurance product and plan design. -Major Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for managing the IFP Product team's product catalog and supporting the goals of the Portfolio Deployment & Plan Design Strategy function for the IFP Product Management & Regulatory Alignment team. The Portfolio Deployment & Plan Design Strategy pillar is a new team within the IFP Product Management and Regulatory Alignment function and will be responsible for translating product strategy into compliant and compelling plan designs that support IFP's membership growth and financial goals. The Portfolio Deployment & Plan Design Manager will support coordination with Product Strategy, Regional Product Teams, Actuary, Regulatory/Legal and other key functional teams to develop and maintain an annual product catalog that is translated to local market offerings. The Portfolio Deployment & Plan Design Strategy Manager will also be responsible for coordinating with Regional Product teams to support easy translation of the product catalog to local markets. - -You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key contributor to the Portfolio Deployment & Plan Design Strategy team on IFP Product Management & Regulatory Alignment team directly managing the annual portfolio-wide product catalog development and maintenance
  • Work closely with Actuary partners to ensure product catalog reflects cost share design that meet product strategy and financial/pricing goals and are consumer friendly and legally compliant. Build and maintain change control processes during plan design build phases
  • Build templates and ultimately own and maintain product and plan design rule and standards documentation to support translation to automation tools and IFP Benefit Management System
  • In coordination with partners on the national IFP Product Strategy and Market and Competitive Intelligence teams, support the evaluation of the performance of each IFP plan design and maintain tools to determine impacts of sunsetting or modifying existing plans in-market
  • Build and maintain core content describing product catalog and plan design strategy for internal cross-functional partners, including compelling PowerPoint slides describing and summarizing plan design that makes it easy for internal partners to understand the unique value prop of each plan design
  • Support documentation and the process for Uniform Modification / Product Discontinuance documentation and decision points specific to cost share / plan designYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of relevant healthcare experience in product or related business role
    • 1+ years of relevant experience in product strategy, product development and / or implementation
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and ExcelPreferred Qualifications:
      • Individual Market, Medicaid, or Commercial insurance experience
      • Analytical skills and ability to review data and make fact-based decisions and/or recommendations
      • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with the urgency to drive work forward
      • Adapt quickly to changes in work direction and able to pivot work accordingly
      • Develop creative solutions to complex problems
      • Team player with ability to form working professional relationships

The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
