Primary Responsibilities:
- Successfully direct, lead, equip and empower leaders and teams
through example by providing oversight and development, to support
inventory reporting, planning, forecasting and workflow direction
for Provider Operations.
- Lead a diverse team of managers, supervisors, and analysts who:
develop and manage daily and weekly forecasting and capacity
planning for UHC Benefit Operations Back Office functions
- Provide oversight into all planning and forecasting related
processes. By ensuring daily and weekly forecasts and plans are
accurate to help the related Operations/Business partners with the
information they need to proactively hire, train, and shift staff
in order to achieve service levels, turnaround times and financial
targets
- Manage a highly functioning team capable of building models,
performing analysis & driving results
- Synergize and share best practices with other members of the
Workforce Planning & Management team
- Communicating staffing risks and planning recommendations to
VPs and Directors and collaborate with these leaders to continually
adjust based on changing business needs
- Manage partner relationships so that there is the appropriate
line of sight to aged inventory, potential obstacles and how the
status of inventory will impact service level agreements or
performance guarantee misses
- Is an expert in workforce planning methodology, processes, and
routines, and serves as an internal consultant to operations
leaders regarding the use of workforce data and analytics
- Establish and maintain communication channels regarding events
that impact work volumes
- Drive performance of Workforce Managers and Analysts to the
highest level, creating a culture of accountability and
execution
- Create a Culture where diversity is embraced, and the
development of employees into top talent is critical
- Facilitate meetings with senior leadership from various
functional areas
- Collaborate with Long Range Planning & other Workforce Planning
and Management Teams on staff models, hiring plans and training
plans for different work types
- Find creative solutions to complex problems through data
management and analytics
- Ability to present and explain complex staffing requirements to
senior leadership and gain support
- Create strategies to maximize resources and drive support
across the Back Office Planning team
- Support and lead efforts in our migration across all channels
into our Enterprise Work Delivery Application
- Lead Workforce management support through gathering and
updating project materials, scheduling, short term forecasting,
project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned
documents
- Work towards an environment where data unity is a standard and
all data utilized across all channels is from one source and
accurate for all levels of our organization
- Drive a culture of root cause analysis, with a focus on
removing variation from the system and removing defects from
processes
- Manage cross-functional interdependencies
- Oversee the workforce management tool administrative
functions
- Improve processes to optimize performance and value over
time
- Provide risk management and issue/problem resolution as
required
- Be a solid change agent and resilient to roadblocks
- Execute with a sense of urgency

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Workforce Management experience
- 3+ years of people management experience
- 3+ years of experience preparing and presenting data
- 2+ years of experience using a workforce management system,
(IEX is preferred)
- Advanced level of experience working with Microsoft Excel with
the ability to create spreadsheets and perform VLOOKUPs, pivot
tables, and complex file links with proven experience in creating
ad hoc reports, manipulating multiple large data sets,
etc.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate data and trend
analysis, concerns regarding performance, action plans, and
solutions to senior level executives
- Demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or
evaluation of business processes
- Demonstrate ability to work a flexible schedule as needed,
including early/late hours at times
- Demonstrates a depth and breadth of knowledge/skills in own
area and is often able to apply these outside of own
function
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs and
proactively identifies solutions
- Acts as a technical resource to others in own function
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relational database experience and experience using MS
Access
- Experience building executive presentations in
PowerPoint
- Experience with automated database management systems (SAS,
SQL, etc.)
- Six Sigma knowledge/experience
- Project Management experience
- Intermediate skills in Access
- Knowledge of other Workforce Management solutions
- Ability to succeed in self-directed environment
- Adaptable and able to quickly move with change while
maintaining a positive attitude
- Plans, prioritizes, organizes, and completes work to meet
established objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple
tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Applies knowledge/skills to complex activities

- Solid relational acumen

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range
for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to
education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to
