In other words, you share our corporate values - passion, work ethic, teamwork, integrity, and ownership mindset.ResponsibilitiesAs a Construction Purchasing Manager, you will be establishing and maintaining good relationship with important construction suppliers to ensure consistent supplies of need materials or services, overseeing the planning and coordination of an organization's purchasing operations, playing a vital role in ensuring an organization secures the best products/services at the best prices. In a given day, your tasks may include:

  • Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
  • Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
  • Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing
  • Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production
  • Process purchase orders to acquire goods
  • Work closely with the legal department to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company
  • Attend meetings with the legal team, engineering team, vendors, and suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers comply with internal quality standards and external laws
  • Conduct assessments to identify new and reliable suppliers/vendors
  • Build and maintain positive trust relationships with key suppliers and vendors
  • Develop and implement best practices, procedures, and policies for procurement
  • Create and maintain an up-to-date supplier/vendor database
  • Oversee the management of supplier/vendor product cost, quality and delivery performance
  • Seek and gain approval of executives to secure purchasing contracts with new suppliers or vendors
  • Continuously compare product prices and service quality to ensure a company gets the best deals on purchased products/services
  • Maintain accurate record of relevant purchase document for reference purposes
  • Carry out market analysis to determine future product/material availability. Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management is preferred.
    • High school diploma or GED, 5-10 years related experience.
    • 5+ years construction purchasing experience
    • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, One Note, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project scheduling. Experience with ProCore is helpful.
    • Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with wide range of people.
    • Must be organized, detail oriented and have good time management skills.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, understanding that your scheduled workdays may vary according to staffing and property needs.
