Job Description:

Projects the candidate will be working on:


  • Positions in this function are responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality.
  • Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use across the company.
  • Roles in this function could partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization.
  • Other roles involved could include producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients.
  • Team members will typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data.
  • Positions in this function work on predominately descriptive and regression-based analytics and tend to leverage subject matter expert views in the design of their analytics and algorithms.
  • This function is not intended for employees performing the following work: production of standard or self-service operational reporting, casual inference led (healthcare analytics) or data pattern recognition (data science) analysis; and/or image or unstructured data analysis using sophisticated theoretical frameworks


    Ideal Background:


    • Healthcare or eCommerce experience with a large multifunctional team.
    • Experience working directly with the client on full range of basic reporting needs to complex review of customer behavior


      Team and Team size:


      • Cross functional team supporting UHC.com. This includes the VP, Site Support groups like AB testing and UX along with line of business partners throughout the organization.


        Top Responsibilities:


        • Partner with stakeholders to develop measurement frameworks that align to organization key performance indicators.
        • Ensure that measurement solutions adhere to organizational priorities.
        • Act as a subject matter expert on best in class digital analytics and optimization, consulting with stakeholders to enable the best possible view to member behaviors.
        • Support product teams with ad hoc and recurring reporting, and deep dive analytics to answer key business questions
        • Develop learning and optimization plans collaboratively with data science, web analytics, and business stakeholders
        • Evangelize importance of analytics and optimization across organization while developing strong relationships with the business stakeholders
        • Development of measurable stakeholder goals and measurement plans that tie to business impact and ROI
        • Gain an in-depth knowledge of Optum website architecture, KPI's and customer goals
        • Manage customer expectations appropriately and keep projects on schedule and within scope
        • Lead face-to-face brainstorming session with key stakeholders on the marketing, technical and design sides of a client's business
        • Manage multiple projects, with multiple remote teams, at one time
        • Interact frequently with clients via phone, email, and in-person
        • Provide regular status updates to the leadership and quickly escalate potential issues
        • Monitor trends in web, social, digital and mobile media and exploring new tools, trends and applications that could positively impact our business


          Skills/attributes Required


          • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
          • 3-5+ years of digital analytics experience working with large, distributed teams
          • Demonstrated experience utilizing the Adobe suite of web analytics products, or Google Analytics
          • Demonstrated experience in managing the analytics lifecycle, including testing methodologies
          • Experience with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


            Skills/attributes Preferred


            • Deep practical understanding of Adobe Analytics and Implementation.
            • Ability to present concise and easy to understand analysis to all levels of the business.
            • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with Analytics team and Line Of Businesses they are supporting.
