The Senior Director of Product Management and Regulatory Alignment is responsible for leading the design, build and regulatory compliance of an expanding portfolio of consumer benefit plans across 20+ states serving a diverse set of members and state and federal partners.The Senior Director of Product Management and Regulatory Alignment will oversee a team of Product Directors and Managers responsible for tailoring national strategies to meet the unique needs of each market, ensuring compliance with all requirements, and managing each local product portfolio from development and filing through implementation. This includes managing all relevant federal and state requirements, conducting market-level competitive research, tailoring national product strategies to meet local requirements and the competitive landscape, developing localized plan designs, conducting filings, communicating the value proposition, developing accurate required member materials (e.g., COCs and SBCs) and ongoing monitoring and refinement of the portfolio. The Senior Director of Product Management and Regulatory Alignment acts as a key business partner working with leaders across many teams to design and bring the products to life. This person will leverage strong leadership skills to foster a culture of collaboration, strategic and operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This leader will play a key role in driving our membership, Net Promoter Score (NPS) and financial goals across the business. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Individual and Family Plans Product Management & Regulatory Alignment team directly managing the successful development and execution of annual product strategies across all markets.
  • Own subject matter expertise in federal and state Individual / Exchange-related requirements, drawing from lessons learned from existing members, competitors, industry dynamics, regulatory partners, and other UHC lines of business.
  • Work closely with multiple functional teams including legal / regulatory, actuarial, clinical, network, and local markets to leverage data to design and continuously improve products to meet member needs and provide competitive advantage to achieve our membership and financial goals.
  • Build on product management infrastructure, processes, and automation to ensure products are filed with 100% accuracy and compliance and are successfully handed off to all cross-functional downstream partners.
  • Demonstrate systems thinking to readily identify downstream impacts of decisions, collaborate across entire business, and proactively develop alternatives based on impacts to member experience, financial performance, or operational execution.
  • Drive accurate and compliant required member materials such as Certificates of Coverage (COCs), Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs), Uniform Modification letters, etc.
  • Champion large-scale, strategic cross-functional projects to increase efficiency and support continued scale.
  • Establish and manage relationships with leaders across the business to support broader business strategy and meet local competitive positioning and membership goals.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience
    • 7+ years of experience in benefit design and operations
    • 5+ years of experience in analytics driven and fact-based decision making
    • 5+ years of experience leading product teams
    • Experience working collaboratively across multiple functional areas (network, actuarial, legal, clinical, etc.) and fostering teamwork
    • Experience leading complex initiatives in an ambiguous environment with rapidly changing priorities
    • Advanced knowledge of healthcare
    • Significant experience with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
    • Detailed knowledge of the Individual market segments and regulatory requirements
    • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

      • MBA
      • Experience in a start-up or growth business
