opportunity will report to the Vice President of Diversity, Equity
and Inclusion within UnitedHealth Group's Global DEI Office. This
role is responsible for leading change management strategy and
execution on strategic initiatives and projects across the
enterprise for various DEI campaigns and initiatives, including the
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) program. The Global DEI Office
partners closely with UnitedHealth Group Talent Teams, the People
Team, and the business to develop and implement strategic solutions
in support of our global DEI priorities and objectives and is
looking for a Sr. Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Strategy who will lead the strategic planning and operational
execution of the Aspirational Goals and Employee Resource Group
strategies across the enterprise. This position will provide
program leadership and strategic and operational planning to
improve the strategic focus and prioritization of several DEI
campaigns and initiatives including the Employee Resource Groups
(ERGs) program, and will partner closely with the UHG Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion Office, People Leadership Team, Talent Office,
and other business and executive key stakeholders across the
enterprise. You will serve as proxy for and help support the VP
DEI, Employee Engagement and Analytics to achieve the Global DEI
Office goals and team objectives ensuring solid execution and that
all team activities are aligned to the enterprise DEI strategy. As
a successful candidate, you will be a DEI champion applying not
only your passion but also your technical expertise to open
channels that enable a more diverse workforce with the highest
sense of inclusivity at UnitedHealth Group. To do this you will
collaborate across teams and businesses to deliver best in class
DEI strategies aligned to business and talent priorities, engage,
advise and support ERGs to advance the Global DEI Office's talent
strategies, develop inclusive leadership strategies, successfully
build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and design
and execute creative ways for UnitedHealth Group to continually
advance and move forward with efforts that help embed DEI into the
organization's DNA. This role will also partner with the VP of DEI
to develop and drive an enterprise psychological safety strategy
and campaign. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from
anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drives strategy and implementation of DEI programs and
practices that further UnitedHealth Group's DEI strategy and
contributes to creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace, a
Board driven initiative, across the enterprise
- Drives diversity, equity and inclusion principles and best
practices throughout the enterprise, the Global DEI Office, the
People Team, and other key stakeholders
- Oversees strategic business initiatives from development
through successful execution, including long range planning, under
the leadership the VP DEI
- Project manages a broad set of activities ranging from highly
strategic to tactical, liaising as a critical role in helping the
VP DEI and cross-functional partners focus on achieving global DEI
objectives
- Influences alignment of action and accountability to pull
through deliverables, both individually and collectively across the
team
- Determines key performance indicators and measures success
- Represents the VP DEI, as needed, in external and internal
meetings
- Engages with a diverse array of people, teams, key
stakeholders, and partners to make connections and align around
desired outcomes
- Engages with the enterprise DEI ecosystem to align and
integrate our DEI priorities, objectives, and initiatives
- Implements DEI programs and practices within the ERG program
that further UnitedHealth Group's DEI strategy and contributes to
creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace across
UnitedHealth Group
- Generates proposals for new programs or investments based on
information gathered, work being completed and feedback from key
stakeholders
- In partnership with the People Team, UHG Global DEI office
teams and other key stakeholders, develop strategies and
initiatives and provide support to our Employee Resource Groups
(ERGs) and other DEI initiatives and campaigns
- Generates communications and awareness plans to ensure
alignment and knowledge of the Team's initiatives, programs and
practices. Provides critical guidance on how to tell our evolving
story.
- Upon request partners with other team members to compile and
analyze metrics, key performance indicators, and data to assess
impact of strategy and supporting initiatives
- Conducts research, stay current on external trends, data, and
best practices
- Continue to deepen and broaden consulting skills, enterprise
insight, and expertise to enable an expanded viewpoint on issues
impacting our diverse workforce
- Annual business travel can be expected up to 20% annually

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of professional experience in 1 or more areas of:
Human Capital, Chief of Staff, Strategy Lead
- 3+ years of experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,
including demonstrated success developing and driving DEI
strategies that improved diversity representation and inclusion at
an enterprise level
- 5 + years of managing and leading others
- Experience implementing cross-functional and complex programs,
across multiple business lines and talent connected solutions
- Experience influencing and partnering with senior executive
leadership, business leaders and People teams to deliver successful
DEI programs
- Experience identifying and creating connections across People
Teams and the Business to deliver solutions
- Experience leveraging data to inform and design solutions
- Experienced in program management with solid organization
skills
- Experience capturing and synthesizing data
- Experience operationalizing strategic plans
- Proven experience to scale and execute globally
- Experience working with a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated driving DEI organizational strategies and
operationalizing strategic plans
- Demonstrated communication skills influencing, guiding, and
driving adoption by People Teams and business leaders. Preferred
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading, advising and overseeing ERG
programs and leadership advisory councils and creating and driving
strategy and operational plans
- Demonstrated experience with Organization Design & Development,
Change Management, Transformation, Program Management, and/or
Organizational Effectiveness
- Demonstrated experience using data to drive strategic
initiatives, strategies and to create DEI narratives
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through written

Washington residents is $142,300 to $273,200. Pay is based on
several factors including but not limited to education, work
experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary,
