The Implementation Project Manager serves as a liaison between
clients, client management, and OptumRx during the implementation
phase. To support the organization's strategic direction and growth
in the PBM industry by applying a clearly defined project
management approach to all client implementations.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead client (all sizes) implementation projects,
including Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, EGWP and Exchange lines
of business
- Demonstrate a successful Implementation based on client and
internal partner feedback, utilizing direct client/internal partner
communication, as well as the external Implementation Satisfaction
Survey responses. Lead all assigned implementations with command
and poise
- Develop detailed work plans, schedule estimates, resource
plans, status reports, and implementation priorities
- Direct and coordinate the teams of operations, business,
product and technical contributors to ensure the on-time, within
budget, successful delivery of properly scoped high quality project
requirements
- Identify and document any scope changes throughout the
implementation phase, obtain approvals and engage appropriate
internal stakeholders to adjust timelines for accounted
changes
- Ensure factual, timely, and quality implementation tracking,
analysis, reporting and communication strategies are utilized using
established policies & procedures
- Proactively manage client expectations & performance guarantee
commitments by partnering with all internal & external project
stakeholders. Support the Sales process with client RFP responses,
pre finalist support, and represent Optum Rx Implementations at
finalist meetings
- Serve as Lead communicator for overall project status, with
regard to issues, risk, & mitigation strategies for clients,
OptumRx, & Optum IT. Provide OptumRx readiness reporting & Optum
Elevate readiness reporting
- Ensure Service Now automated workflow tool updates are timely
and meet QA standards to ensure 100% accuracy per timeline for each
implementation. Manage internal team updates to the client SN
implementation case to ensure completeness
- Provide technical, business, analytical, and strategic guidance
to entire ORX implementation team. Attend all IT development
meetings to ensure contractual obligations are met and meet
regularly with IT lead on progress and obstacles to deploy
- Review deliverables and ensure adherence to quality standards,
implementations and team performance measurements
- Obtain signoffs on all deliverables from key internal &
external project stakeholders. Make timely and appropriate
decisions to ensure implementations are on track for successful
service and go live readiness
- Recommend and take necessary actions to direct the analysis and
solutions of problems; escalate when needed. Ensure developed
solutions match Client requirements
- Partner with Account Management to ensure all implementation
items are tracked, documented and closed, in agreement with the
client intent
- Lead cross-functional quality initiatives centered on improving
the implementation process, & post go live lessons to learn reviews
with clients and executive leaders
- Complete special projects when assigned
Peak Season Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Vendor Transition Team to manage the
end-to-end Vendor Transition Process for select client
implementations
- Work with clients to gather and define data file requirements
necessary to execute the transfer of data from incumbent PBM or
third parties to OptumRx
- Data files necessary for the vendor transition process may
include, Claims History, Prior Authorization, Continuation of
Therapy, Open Refill File
- Determine data requirements necessary to deliver on disruption
analysis and disruption mail campaigns
- Ensure mapping requirements to load Prior Authorizations and
continuation of therapy are accurate and meet client
expectations
- Manage, track and mitigate any issues/risks associated with the
VT process and escalate to leadership as necessary
- Attend regular/established team meetings and provide necessary
updates regarding VT status
- Work in ServiceNow to open and manage cases, tasks and
subtasks
- Coordinate deadlines and timing of files and requirements with
clients, internal team and operational areas. And ensure timelines
are established, tracked and documented in the overall
implementation project plan
- Provide updates as needed to leadership, internal teams, client
and operational areas as necessary
- Establish regular working sessions, internal/external, in order
to gather and execute requirements
- Partner with cross functional teams to ensure required testing,
quality assurance and validation of data and data loads are
completed successfully

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in the PBM, health care, and pharmacy
industry
- 2+ years of experience in Implementation or large healthcare
project management -
- Solid experience in influencing internally and externally with
soft power, driving cross - functional collaboration, and
negotiating win - win solutions
- Effective skills for navigating and driving results across
operations, network, and clinical domains in a highly complex,
matrix environment
- Willing to work through year-end holiday season (Christmas
week/NYE/New Year's Day) as necessary to address client go-live
issues and support cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Experience OptumRx implementation or account management
- Excellent written, oral, and active listening communication
skills. Demonstrated ability to message, position, and present
information for maximum customer impact and influence
- Independent contributor with the ability to multi-task, work
with leaders and ensure client satisfaction
- Proven ability to ascertain client needs through active
listening skills, and consultatively work with clients to achieve
business objectives

Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California,
Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington
residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors
including but not limited to education, work experience,
certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group
