hire a full-time Coatings Lab Chemist to help us manage multiple
technical projects, ensuring the requirements of each are met with

ChemistYou will spend your day conducting all required tests,
extractions, and studies including calculating weight solids,
volume solids, VOC's, and formular pricing; perform color matching
visually without use of a spectrophotometer; formulate products
that translate easily into the production environment; participate
in quality audits and manage quality control in production; and
accurately record all data & provide regular updates to the
Director of R&D. What you need to be successful at Fenix Group
SPCAt a minimum, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry,
Analytical Chemistry, or related technical degree 5 years of
experience in a laboratory settingThorough understanding of the
General Industrial Coatings market and coatings chemistry Must have
knowledge in the manufacturing of the following coatings including
clears and pigmented:Solvent based solution acrylic sealers2-part
water based and solvent based acrylic urethanes2-part water based
and 100% solid epoxies2-part polyaspartic and urethane
systemsCementitious overlays Acrylic emulsionPolyurethane
dispersionSilane and silicone AlkydMust have proven familiarity
with basic coatings lab equipment including but not limited to:
Zahn viscosity cups, Stormer viscometer, gloss meter, fineness of
grind gauge, and draw down bars. Solid working knowledge of
analytical method development and validationGeneral knowledge of
cement chemistry and other various substratesProficiency in various
liquid coating formulations for the architectural marketCommitment
to compliance with standard operating proceduresProficiency in
Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of OutlookAbility to
accurately discern colors The ability to occasionally lift and/or
move up to 20 poundsWorking knowledge of VOC and DOT
regulationsKnowledge and working experience handing hazardous
materials related to coatingsFamiliar with building code
