The Director of Health Plan Accreditation Oversight plays a key role in the UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family Plan (IFP) clinical organization. This leader is accountable for overseeing and actively supporting the development, implementation, and management of NCQA health plan accreditation for 18+ IFP health plans.

As a leader in health plan accreditation for the IFP business, you will draw upon technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset to develop strategies in alignment with NCQA's quality improvement and population health management standards, to monitor the effectiveness of existing strategies, and to ensure all accreditation activities are completed within the necessary time frames. This individual works closely with internal partners to advance NCQA Health Plan Accreditation and related quality improvement projects to help IFP members live healthier lives. This individual must possess a growth mindset and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. This individual will report to the Vice President of Clinical Quality & Health Equity for IFP and will collaborate with the IFP Quality Improvement Director and Quality Operations & Oversight Director.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Represents IFP as a leader in Health Plan accreditation and serves as a resource for other IFP functional areas engaged in NCQA accreditation activities
* Partners with enterprise accreditation subject matter experts to support ongoing monitoring of and compliance with NCQA Health Plan accreditation standards, preparing any related documentation, and ensuring IFP population health programs align with standards
* Drives National Quality Oversight Committee meeting agendas and participates in Committee meetings structured to achieve outcomes success. As needed, supports committee documentation to meet NCQA requirements
* Leads implementation of quality improvement projects and initiatives in support of NCQA Health Plan accreditation across 18+ IFP states, including tracking performance improvement and developing a learning process for reporting, evaluation, and feedback
* Ensures compliance with applicable State, Federal and NCQA quality improvement requirements, including developing and managing IFP state-specific quality deliverables and duties

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree
* 3+ years of relevant work experience within UnitedHealthcare or another managed care entity
* 1+ years of prior experience working on a Health Plan accreditation
* Experience designing, developing and/or implementing quality and population health management improvement projects
* Experience leading/implementing and setting strategies for quality improvement projects
* Demonstrated leadership experience specific to a Health Plan Accreditation process
* Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

* Clinical experience, preferably a BSN or RN
* Certified Professional in Health Care Quality or comparable training or expertise
* Successful management and submission of an accreditation survey; NCQA Health Plan accreditation experience is preferred
* Adaptable and flexible style of collaborating with key stakeholders in setting direction
* Ability to self-manage and to motivate others to achieve agreed-upon results, with a focus on driving disciplined, fact-based decisions and executing with discipline and urgency
* Proven ability to articulate business strategies and formulate concise solutions to complex problems
* Ability to balance multiple accountabilities and organizational change
* Exceptional relationship and teaming skills, with proven ability to collaborate and quickly build and maintain relationships across diverse functions
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Success working with ambiguity and under tight deadlines

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
