Corporate Accounting Policy The Accounting Policy Consultant is a
critical team member of the Corporate Accounting Policy group and
owns responsibility for key enterprise projects.Primary
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Business Operations by Responding to Technical
Accounting Consultations:
- Participate in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions -
includes target financial statement analysis, external auditor
workpaper reviews, review of transaction purchase and other
agreements, target policy and internal control assessments, and
advising on "day 2" accounting
- Provide evaluations and timely resolution to complicated
day-to-day accounting matters
- Perform detailed research and document conclusions in technical
accounting memos when necessary
- Prepare accounting summaries for management and executive level
leadership
- Draft new accounting policies and review existing policies to
ensure policy guidance reflects current accounting literature and
interpretations
- Develop accounting policies and perform maintenance for the
enterprise's Corporate Accounting Policy Manual
- Accounting support for tax, capital market debt and other
treasury transactions including advice on structuring
- Analyze accounting impact of legislative and other regulatory
changes
- Assist with business structuring including consideration of
contract language and financial statement impacts
- Lead the preparation of the annual testing of goodwill for
impairment in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Facilitate and perform procedures and responsible for certain
internal controls around accounting policies, goodwill impairment
procedures and select stock compensation matters
- Assist SEC reporting with various projects as need arises
- Monitoring and Responding to Accounting Developments:
- Monitor new accounting developments including FASB/IASB
projects and communicate potential impacts to key stakeholders
(i.e., Chief Accounting Officer, Controllers, Investor Relations,
Segment Finance Leadership)
- Identify emerging guidance for comment and assist with drafting
comment letters to the standard setters
- Assist with implementation of new accounting standards, as
applicable
- Leadership and Development:
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the
organization
- Manage projects to ensure deadlines are met
- Work with reporting team to facilitate cross-functional
learnings and efficiencies
- Mentor and develop staff You'll be rewarded and recognized for

in.Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of public accounting or equivalent technical
accounting experience including SEC and public company experience

- Material accounting research experience in a broad range of
transactions
- Experience documenting complex accounting positions, including
summarizing transactions and the related accounting literature
- Strong understanding of and experience in U.S. GAAP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills -
- Ability to prepare concise board and executive level summaries
and presentations
- Ability to prepare and present technical accounting trainings
to internal business partners
- Desire and ability to produce high quality, original documents
with attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and to meet tight
deadlines
- Ability to leverage relationships and communicate effectively
within a team setting -
