position in the UnitedHealthcare legal department on the Northeast
Region Network Legal Team. -This Associate General Counsel role
supports the UnitedHealthcare Networks business team as legal and
strategic advisor to company's provider network related
initiatives. -You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from
anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough
challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
- Member of the Government Programs Network Legal Team,
supporting the Southeast Region. -The Southeast Region includes
these 9 markets: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida,
Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana -
- Directly support several states as a subject matter expert for
Network legal needs related to Medicare Advantage and Medicaid

- Serve as counsel to senior leadership in the development,
structuring and execution of all aspects of the company's
relationships with healthcare providers - -
- Draft and negotiate provider agreements, including
participation agreements, amendments, value-based contracting,
payment appendices, and regulatory appendices with large and
complex healthcare provider partners
- Provide legal support on a variety of issues involving
providers in the Medicare Advantage and Medicaid networks,
including contract interpretation, payment methodologies,
regulatory requirements, performance-based compensation
arrangements, provider administrative guides, provider disputes,
market expansions, and contract terminations
- Acquire deep knowledge of the industry and the specific
business practices of the company's provider network operations and
the Medicare Advantage and Medicaid business units within
UnitedHealth Group so as to best advise senior business leaders as
they develop network strategy and pursue enterprise goalsYou'll be

you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: -
- Juris Doctorate degree
- License to practice law in one or more states
- 5+ years of relevant professional legal experience in an
attorney capacity
- 2 + years of healthcare insurance experience -
- Expertise, judgement and presence to advise senior leadership
on legal matters
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations -
- Understanding of health insurance and managed care
industry
- Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate complex
contracts
- Ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of
action to meet business needs
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this

- Experience with healthcare regulatory agencies and state
insurance regulations
- Solid understanding of health insurance and/or managed care
industry, and contract negotiation -
- Understanding of healthcare benefit coverage
- Live within the vicinity of the specific career opportunity,

- Proven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and
legal environment
- Ability to drive results. -Solid work ethic
- Well-developed written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers,

Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is
$113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada
residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors
including but not limited to education, work experience,
certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group
