Job Description:
McLane Company, a trailblazer in supply chain management, is
seeking a dedicated Transportation Coordinator to reinforce our
logistics team. The role is pivotal in ensuring efficient
transportation operations across our extensive network of
distribution centers. This position requires a proactive approach
to coordinating shipments, overseeing transportation staff, and
implementing effective logistics strategies consistent with company
goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment,
possess excellent problem-solving skills, and contribute
significantly to the optimization of our transportation systems.
Plan and coordinate the daily transportation activities to ensure
timely delivery and distribution of products. Monitor and manage
transportation costs to stay within budgetary constraints. Liaise
with other departments to ensure logistics alignment with overall
business goals. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local
transportation laws and regulations. Analyze transportation data to
report on performance and propose improvements. Lead, guide, and
train transportation staff on best practices in logistics and
supply chain management. Strong organizational and planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage
and direct staff and operations. Proficient in logistics software
and MS Office. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
