POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Publications Specialist will possess medical writing experience, understanding of scientific research methodologies, analytical skills and technical knowledge of products and processes to create scientifically accurate abstracts/peer-reviewed articles. As a member of the Scientific Affairs department, the role will work closely with the Senior Principal Publications Specialist as well as with cross-functional groups including Marketing, Regulatory, Marketing, R&D and other teams at AtriCure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Author/review abstracts and manuscripts for submission in scientific meetings/congresses and peer-reviewed scientific journals Author podium presentation and posters for meetings/congresses worldwide Maintain up-to-date congress calendar and journal database Support execution of the publication plan and coordination of publication review committees Develop or review, scientific documents from cross-functional groups, as needed Remain current with medical developments, treatment guidelines, and publications on AtriCure and other state-of-the-art devices and therapies Review/Create literature reviews and summaries as needed for cross-functional teams including Marketing and Regulatory May serve as a Scientific Affairs representative in Product Development meetings, as needed May coordinate or write grant submission, as needed Ensure that accurate, high-quality documents are prepared on schedule and in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Regular and predictable work performance Ability to work under fast-paced conditions Ability to make decisions and use good judgment Ability to prioritize various duties and multitask as required Ability to successfully work with others Additional duties as assigned BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 2+ years or relevant experience in scientific/medical writing, preferably with cardiac medical devices Experience with analyzing, summarizing, and effectively communicating scientific data Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Collaborative approach in working with cross functional teams Computer Skills (EndNote or other citation management software, Microsoft Office Suite) Ability to write independently with minimal input Ability to travel approximately 10% PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the domain of Cardiac Surgery / Electrophysiology OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check #LI-RS1 AtriCure has a variety of benefits available for US based employees and their families.
