Desktop Engineer has proven experience in all aspects of end user desktop and mobile device engineering and management. Scope includes, but not limited to - administration, monitoring, imaging, application deployment to end user devices (i.e. desktops, laptops, tablets), in-depth knowledge of configuration, customization, implementation, testing, and operational support. Desktop Engineer is a subject matter expert in the end user device system management design, in end-user device hardware and software, business continuity and disaster recovery planning and execution. This role will provide 3rd level operational support to end users through root cause analysis and root cause elimination. Desktop Engineer will provide documentation and knowledge transfer on all current and newly implemented technologies.

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Desktop Engineer will lead the management and administration of all desktop and mobile technical solutions in a Microsoft Windows and multi-vendor application environment. Will lead assigned resources to support production break-fix activities, maintenance, project support, mobile and endpoint devices for operational efficiencies and effectiveness within Aramark's HQ, back office and field locations. Responsible for some staff oversight.

    • Administration and management of SCCM
    • Administration and management of Intune
    • Administration of SCCM + Intune co-management
    • Maintain and optimize Aramark's Global instance of Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
    • General monitoring of site health via SSRS, log files, and the SCCM console
    • Manage SCCM upgrades, including supporting infrastructure requirements
    • Manage and configure user and device collections, compliance settings and boundary groups
    • Evaluate, implement, and maintain products related to SCCM including 3rd party solutions (Nomad, Direct Access, MBAM, USMT, etc.)
    • Role-based administration: Managing custom roles and security scopes
    • Creating/modifying SCCM, WQL, SQL reports
    • Experience creating and maintaining SCCM task sequences for OSD (Operating System Deployment)
    • Planning, configuring, and implementing disaster recovery plans to mitigate the loss of SCCM services
    • Deploying client management agents, reporting, and troubleshooting installation issues
    • Provide oversight for the deployment of applications and software updates, Windows 10 Servicing and Office 365 updates
    • Management of Direct Access
    • Management of Active Directory Group Policy
    • Management of centralized printing services
    • Resolve and remedy incident tickets that are escalated for level 3 support from the Service Desk
    • Manage projects and tasks to completion, including conducting meetings, creating/maintaining schedules, leading project teams, and updating documentation.
    • Candidates should have at least 5 or more years of experience supporting SCCM Current Branch in an environment.
    • Candidates should have experience with the Windows Workstation Operating System and troubleshooting methods.
    • Candidate should have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft InTune.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred, or equivalent experience.

Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to correspond efficiently and effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE: Typically requires 3-5 years IT experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5-7 years field experience. Preferably having a depth of IT experience that includes operations, engineering, and architecture services in large scale global enterprises.

EDUCATION: BA/BS degree or equivalent technical training.

Skill Set: System Center Configuration Manager, Intune, Microsoft 365 Office Suite, General Scripting (Ansible, PowerShell, VBScript), Active Directory Group Policy Management, Centralized print service management, Project Management, SQL Server Reporting Services, IIS Configuration and Troubleshooting SQL Server Management, ITSM knowledge, ITIL certification, Lean Sigma.

Demonstrates thorough understanding of requirement specification, design, coding, structure, operation and testing of information systems. Demonstrates proficiency with one or more technology environments, and the ability to learn and apply new and emerging concepts efficiently. Tests, implements, documents, and maintains system components based on specifications. In more advanced technical levels within the band, the position demonstrates expert understanding in the IT Process, serving as a resource to others providing technical leadership in their area of specialization.

II. Industry Knowledge/Emerging Technologies

Builds and maintains strong working knowledge of the business area and the applications that support it. Develops a basic understanding of the industry and the products and services of Aramark. Has a solid understanding of how systems effect and benefit clients.

III. Communication and Client Interaction

Can produce documentation of a new or proposed system, methodology or structure. Effectively leads or contributes to project plans and work output of the group. Shares knowledge effectively within the work team. Customizes presentations to the interests of the audience.

IV. Problem Solving/Decision Making

Analyzes systems and processes from end to end, assessing how information/systems are managed and used from multiple perspectives. Frequently enlisted to address complex cross-technology and cross platform issues. Evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of proposed solutions. Designs projects with broad implication for the business and/or the future architecture, successfully addressing cross-technology and cross-platform issues.

V. Project Life Cycle Management

Acts as a technical advisor to project teams, providing special technical expertise. Strong experience with all phases of the project life cycle.
