The primary duty of the Renewal Account Executive is to retain existing agent and broker groups through exceptional service in order to promote health care sales and market UHC products. The Renewal Account Executive focuses on the small business market segment, those customers employing up to 50 employees, and in some cases 51-99

Primary Responsibilities:
Developing business relationships with agents and/or brokers in order to service and renew existing accounts. Independently decides which brokers to focus on and which products to recommend
Promotes sales of products (including: -Medical and Specialty (dental, vision, disability, financial protection, life) to small business (2 to 99 employees) customers, through brokers. Including: Educating and keeping brokers up to date on UHC products and pricing
Evaluating and discussing with brokers how UHC products meet the needs of the brokers' customers
Independently developing and delivering recommendations to brokers on which products to market against competing products
Assisting brokers in developing sales proposals, including anticipating competing products and distinguishing UHC's products from those competing products

Attaining regional and health plan goals related to specific targeted health and specialty products
Producing agent/broker sales that result in profitable premium levels for the company
Business Savvy:
Easily identifies reasons for problems and can find effective solutions
Solid consultative selling skills
Solid financial acumen, providing the ability to explain rates against benefits to a wide array of audiences
Impact of Decisions:
Decisions impacting the business and customer interactions are made using independent judgment and are normally made without supervision
Decisions have an impact on profitability and retention of customer base
Product Knowledge:
Solid knowledge of all products sold in their market segment, including competitive products; applies independent judgment to recommend products for a given customer's situation
Organization Skills:
Very solid organizational skills key to balancing multiple priorities, objectives and customer obligations
Time management skills critical to success
Relationship Building and Influence:
Builds solid relationships with customers, brokers and consultants through frequent
phone contact and solid product knowledge and advice
Maintains solid relationships with existing agents and brokers to promote and sustain sales
Influences decisions and business outcomes through relationships and negotiations
Strategic Vision:
Understands company's vision and mission linked to direct application of methods and plans to accomplish sales strategy
Implements strategy and may be team lead to accomplish objective

Required Qualifications:
Sales insurance license maintained as required by state law or willing to obtain
Ability to travel
You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to successfully sell in a complex sales environment (health care industry)
Produces sales to employers through direct sales or brokers
Solid communication/presentation skills
Ability to work independently to establish and grow relationships in the broker community for the small business market for the assigned geographic area
Access to reliable transportation
