Job Description Hybrid 1 year contract with potential to be hired on Dahl Consulting is currently partnering with a leading company in the health care industry. We work one-on-one with great candidates to help connect them with local employment opportunities. This company is hiring a Community Engagement Specialist for a contract position Interested? Get more details below POSITION OVERVIEW: This is a highly visible role, with an emphasis on maintaining and developing organizational relationships. The Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for both establishing and continuing to build partnerships and meaningful relationships with organizations throughout the state, focusing on those organizations that support underrepresented populations. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Search for and identify appropriate partnerships to reach more communities and strengthen community relationships. Conduct meaningful and intentional outreach activities with these organizations. Develop, organize, and facilitate meetings, discussion groups, ongoing workshops and other special events, including member stakeholder meetings. Share information and learnings about community issues, preferences and needs with key internal stakeholders and leaders, along with recommendations for needed changes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. At least 3 years' experience in community organization, outreach, advocacy, or housing. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with others. Excellent public speaking skills with the capacity to serve as a spokesperson for the organization. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task on a daily basis. Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint), as well virtual platforms (e.g. WebEx, Zoom). PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Two years' experience with relationship management with providers and community health organizations. Solid understanding of health care and managed care, including Medicaid and Medicare. Previous healthcare experience a plus. Fluency in a second language highly desirable and preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in Somali or Hmong. Travel and Physical Requirements: Must be able to attend public events in outdoor venues in all weather conditions. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must have access to reliable, working vehicle (reimbursement for mileage, parking, and local travel expenses will be provided). Must be willing to travel throughout the Minnesota regional area to attend events. Work Arrangement: These positions would primarily be working from home/remotely, however they will be required to regularly attend/participate in community engagement meetings or events in person.
