Job DescriptionCome for a job, stay for a career!! JEM Technical designs and manufactures custom valves and controls for Fluid Power Applications. (earth-movers, mowers, Utility trucks, farm equipment, skid-steer loaders and attachments, trailers, military dump trucks, snow plows, and material testing systems). We maintain complete control of the process from beginning to end. JEM Technical is committed to advancing OEM and end-users with our Fluid Power and Controls applications. We work with our customers to find the best manufacturing and distribution solutions affordably, accurate, and reliable. Position Summary: The Buyer works in cooperation with the Purchasing Manager to ensure incoming materials, components, and supplies are ordered and received to meet critical production schedules, effectively reviewing MRP requirements to reduce overall costs and increase inventory turns.Areas of Accountability:

• Reviews and analyzes MRP and other related reports to procure components or services from suppliers. *
• Ensures purchase orders and change orders for assigned parts, materials, and supplies are input into the system and documented in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensures integrity of purchase orders by verifying all information provided on supplier acknowledgement, including part numbers, descriptions, pricing, and delivery dates. *
• Expedites purchase orders related to past due items, special orders, and other requests on an as needed basis. Follows up as necessary. *
• Communicates with sales and production teams regarding status of orders in relation to sales order dates and/or scheduling requirements. *
• Assists in solving discrepancies with suppliers, inventory, finance, and engineering.
• Assists in obtaining and analyzing supplier quotes.
• Assists with supplier negotiations to get the best possible pricing.
• Demonstrates leadership and sound judgment in representing the purchasing department and JEM Technical internally and externally. *
• Complies with all JEM policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements. *
• Supports JEM's vision and mission and exemplifies JEM's core values daily. *
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance. *
• Performs other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications:

• One to three years of related experience in a purchasing role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of ERP system and various inventory control techniques, such as MRP, Kanban
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft OfficeWork Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
