Job Description ICA Food Shelf is a large social service agency in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. Our mission is to create a healthy and stable community for all. Food Logistics/Food Shelf Coordinator job breakdown is as follows: 50% Volunteers and Support- -- Assist with planning and executing Saturday Seasonal Produce Markets. -- Act as lead contact for the NAPS program. -- Train, guide and direct Food Logistics volunteers to follow ICA standards and policies and to ensure tasks are completed correctly. -- Receive food deliveries from suppliers, donors and food rescue volunteers. Ensure proper checking and weighing of incoming food. -- Assist with unloading of truck, van and other vehicles. Oversee sorting and stocking of food. -- Assist with managing inventory and with annual inventory audit. -- General cleaning of warehouse and food logistics areas. -- Flatten and bale cardboard boxes. -- Problem solve for staff, volunteers and clients in the area of Food Logistics. -- Participate in ICA special events. 25% Food Shelf Program, Client Support and Home Deliveries- -- Assist with overseeing, evaluating, developing and supporting the programs, staff and volunteers in the areas of food shelf client shopping including lobby and front desk. -- Assist with maintaining and updating the client support volunteer schedule, assuring there are enough volunteers each day to serve ICA clients. -- Assist with maintaining and updating the home delivery driver volunteer schedule, assuring there are enough drivers each day to serve ICA clients. -- Assist with overseeing, supporting, and developing K-Tel front desk processes and procedures. Support client check in processes and procedures as needed. -- Assist with front desk volunteers with daily home delivery preparation, shopping list preparation (done in advance), home delivery phone calls and assigning home delivery drivers. -- Work with Database Specialist and St Davids Office Manager to assure efficient appointment and database systems. -- Train, develop, support, and empower ICA---s client support volunteers with assistance from Volunteer Manager and Facility Supervisor. 15% Mobile Food Shelf Program- -- Assist with maintaining, evaluating, and executing current Mobile Food Shelf program. -- Train, oversee and work alongside MFS volunteers. -- Assist with developing plan for future of the ICA MFS program. -- Administer needs assessment in local communities to determine next steps for MFS. -- Communicate with MFS sites and site managers. -- Drive ICA truck/van to Mobile sites -- Document processes, where appropriate, and be able to provide numbers for donors. 10% School Programs- -- Assist with developing Weekend Food and School Snack Bin programs. -- Train, oversee and work alongside school program volunteers. -- Work with ICA Community Engagement Manager regarding school programs. Other Qualifications: -- Personal initiative -- Problem solver -- High energy, enjoys working with people -- Excellent verbal and communication skills -- Team player -- Can repeatedly lift heavy items; up to 50 pounds -- Able to drive the ICA box truck, or willingness to learn Experience: -- Food shelf or warehouse experience preferred. -- Volunteer coordination preferred. -- Fluency in Spanish, Russian or Somali a plus.
