UHG R&D works on partnering with internal and external healthcare organizations to develop and pilot healthcare solution, including innovative care models and clinical pathways, for our members. This position will be responsible for providing data analytics to support UHG R&D's develop team in pioneering these innovative programs.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, code and execute programs to extract, aggregate and manipulate pharmacy and medical claims from various sources in support of scientific and product development research
  • Develop new and maintain existing SAS programs to analyze healthcare claims to support ad hoc data requests
  • Transform data and/or develop insights for use in business decisions
  • Develop methods, perform statistical analysis, and generate reports to answer research questions
  • Perform data quality control checks on code and deliverables
  • Participate in interpretation business requirements and create technical specifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 5+ years of experience in SAS, R, Stata, Matlab, SPSS, or similar
    • 5+ years of experience with SQL
    • 2+ years of healthcare experience
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.       • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, data analytics or related field
      • Experience working with medical and pharmacy claims
      • Experience with relational databases, and database structures and data analysis
      • Experience thinking critically and interpret results for business applications
      • Experience with Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
