You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges Primary Responsibilities: In this role you will act as Chief of Staff to VP Strategic Partnerships and Business Development

  • Serve as thought partner to VP in shaping direction of the organization and identifying best practices
  • Engage with internal and external individuals and organizations to help establish and advance the ambitions of the organization, acting as proxy for manager, as necessary to act as a force multiplier when he/she is not able to attend meetings due to competing commitments
  • Develop an outreach plan to package content and insight generated by the team for sharing with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Create a plan for hosting a partnership forum in Minnesota where key industry leaders are invited to engage with Optum Labs and other UHG leaders
  • Maintain and develop internal/external business partner relationships Provide Program and Process Management
    • Oversee and maintain Strategic Partner and Business Development tools, processes, and reporting
    • Maintain CRM tool to ensure its utility, including engaging with contributors to make sure content is up-to-date and complete
    • Identify and incorporate additional processes and tools as appropriate to help continuously improve the program and processes
    • Engage regularly with other leaders within the broader Strategic Partner and Emerging Businesses organization to provide updates to goals, objectives, key results and other information as needed
    • Oversee annual maintenance processes such as budget and forecasting and other business unit and corporate requirements Provide Market and Business Analytics
      • Conduct market research and analyses in conjunction with the strategic partnering and business development process
      • Assist in gathering market intelligence and insight to help establish a fact-base that will inform decisions
      • Develop communication collateral related to market and business analysis including but not limited to: one-page summaries of target organizations, due diligence reports, scoring rubrics, investment memoranda, etc.
      • Develop communications collateral related to the organizations Oversee Communications
        • Develop and distribute communications collateral related to the organization (e.g., company and market analyses, regular reports on general market activity, trend analyses, etc.)
        • Combine existing elements of program work into initial drafts of reports to be shared with senior leaders
        • Edit and/or finalize reports that are tailored to internal and/or external stakeholders' key concerns and questions
        • Create presentation materials needed to support communication of the organization's work (e.g., PowerPoint slides)
        • Review content of reports to ensure information is disseminated according to internal standards
        • Distribute reports to relevant internal and/or external stakeholders using relevant systems and applications (e.g., SharePoint; PowerPoint presentations; Word documents; Excel spreadsheets; relevant databases and/or websites)
        • Leverage existing and identify new tools to facilitate timely and impactful communication, e.g., Pitchbook reports
        • Maintain objective and key results for the organization and provide this information in a timely manner to key stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
          • Bachelor's degree
          • 4+ years ofexperience - prior experience in one or more of the following: business operations, commercial research and development, finance, investment banking, management consulting, general management
          • 4+ years ofexperience in healthcare market research
          • 2+ years ofexperience performing market analysis including sizing, competitive analysis and related financial modeling
          • Experience with a CRM or similar workflow management tool to enable the strategic partnership process
          • Demonstrated ability to work through financial models in Excel and synthesize in PowerPoint (will be asked to provide a redacted example)

            • Master's degree
            • Experience in the healthcare financial services
            • Experience working for a management consulting company
            • Ability to think creatively and comfort being hands-on in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
            • Experience in leading and coordinating all the details around quarterly forums/conferences with key healthcare industry leaders

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
