The Provider Data Consultant - Remote is responsible for various activities related to the provider network data within the Dental line of business, which may include any or all of the following: reviewing and processing partner demographic roster updates, reporting and extracting data for various reports and analyses, and assisting in perform large-scale data reconciliations. The Provider Data Consultant also leads a team to develop and maintain standards for data integrity, assist in quality assurance testing, and manages communication efforts with other business areas.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
  • Performs complex conceptual analyses
  • Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement. - Forecasts and plans resource requirements
  • Authorizes deviations from standards
  • Leads functional teams and projects
  • Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
  • Motivates and inspires other team members
  • Responsible for various activities related to provider network data within the Dental line of business, which may include:

    • Ongoing data maintenance, reporting, and extracting data for various reports and analyses
    • Initiating or leading data reconciliation projects


    • Develop and maintain standards for data integrity and quality assurance, coordinate corrective activities to standardize data, and manage communication processes with other departments regarding data improvements
    • Troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business needs, and proposes documented solution recommendations
    • Improve or implement processes to reconcile data quality issues
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned

      Required Qualifications:


      • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of equivalent work experience
      • Leadership experience (any: people leadership, team lead or project)
      • 2+ years of data analysis and/or audit experience
      • 2+ years of experience in handling issues and defects related to data
      • MySQL or SQL Server (creating queries)
      • Intermediate level of proficiency in tracking, trending, and reporting on metrics
      • Intermediate Excel (Pivot tables, v-look up, etc.)



        Preferred Qualifications:


        • ETL tool experience (i.e. Informatica, cloud services, integration)
        • Healthcare experience
        • Experience writing policies and procedures
        • MS Access experience
        • Familiarity with Salesforce platform
        • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Visio (or equivalent dataflow tool)
        • Proven solid organizational and interpersonal skills

          California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $67,800 to $133,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
