Great opportunity for an Electrical Systems Test Engineer at a

is headquartered in Minnetonka, MN, with a division in Canada.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This position focuses on hardware & software development tasks
within the Company, including prototyping design, implementation,
verification testing, and documentation.
Participates in analyzing and refining requirements/specifications.
Must take an independent and objective view of development efforts
and verify system against requirements / specifications. Assess,
Define & evaluate performance of system interfaces.
PRIMARY ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, test, debug and document enabling custom electronic
systems/subsystems to perform all functions necessary to meet
overall system requirements/objectives.
- Develop and implement test plans to verify that each embedded
software function performs as intended. Utilize commercial test
tools or develop and adapt custom hardware and software to exercise
and debug system or prototype.
- Analyze system requirements and develop an implementation plan
complete with functional definitions and reasoned allocation of
those functions between hardware and software components.
- Design and develop complete system test plans to prove that all
system requirements are being met and are properly
implemented.
- Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of
system resources.
- Prototype, Integrate and validate new product designs.
- Support Design assurance and optimize I/O performance.
- Provide postproduction support.
- Interface with software and hardware design and
development.
- Participates in the risk planning process as requested or
required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree required in engineering, Electronics or
Computer Engineering or another related field. (AA Degree with
equivalent applicable experience)
- Minimum of two (2) years of testing experience, preferably
within the medical device industry.
- Expertise in at least one of the core competencies, which
include MRI interfaces, real-time embedded software implementation,
Robotics, Development of real-time simulators & emulators.
- Proficiency with using Hardware test equipment - Oscilloscope,
Logic Analyzer etc.
- MRI experience a plus.
- Preferred Programming experience in C or C++, or both.
- Preferred experience in LabVIEW development.
- Experience working hands on with Microcontrollers &
RTOS.
- Experience in troubleshooting with automation systems.
- Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on
embedded targets & Hardware-Software Interfaces.
- Experience with UML (Unified Modelling Language) is a
preference.
- PC Performance testing experience preferred.
- Ability to read/modify schematics and understand data sheets
for components.
- Familiarity with software configuration management tools,
defect tracking tools, and peer review.
- Strong documentation and writing skills.
