sales growth and sales execution of our Specialty Businesses to
other (non-UnitedHealthcare) managed care organizations (MCOs). The
Director of Sales is accountable for the identification,
prospecting, RFP process, finalist meeting, negotiation and
ultimate growth, and profitability of new business. The individual
will also support lead generation of new business on existing
accounts as required and work closely with other parts of
UnitedHealthcare and Optum to support their sales efforts to MCOs.
Ideally the Director of Sales will help identify new service lines
to offer our clients/prospects as well as new approaches to
identify and move prospects through the pipeline - i.e., be
creative and have stamina. This position will report to the CEO of
Private Label, which is part of UnitedHealthcare Specialty
Business.If you are located in Minnetonka, MN, you will have the
flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough
challengesPrimary Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain pipeline of prioritized MCOs for prospective
sales efforts and responses to RFPs
- Partner with Private Label account management team members and
leadership to communicate opportunities and needs as well as
support growth (additional LOBs) for existing accounts
- Understand, communicate, and help improve our value
propositions and branding, core messaging, product positioning,
presentation, and sales tools to support product sales
- Develop an annual business plan for Private Label sales and
growth plan, in conjunction with Private Label leadership
- Know and understand the delegation of authority requirements to
complete deals and establish collaborative working relationship
with key matrix partners - e.g., shared service partners --
underwriting, finance, operations, compliance, legal and LOB
leaders of specific Specialty products
- Successfully execute sales opportunities to meet business goals
related to increased membership, revenue, margin, and penetration
of products
- Demonstrate attention to detail, ownership, collaboration, and
leadership in all aspects of the roleYoull be rewarded and

you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (or higher) or equivalent experience
- 5-10+ years of experience in healthcare benefits with
particular emphasis in ancillary benefits and selling to MCOs; or
complex enterprise sales experience in a regulated environment,
preferably Medicaid/Medicare
- Demonstrated evidence of sales management and sales
success
- Demonstrated evidence of negotiation skills and financial
acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - PowerPoint and Excel
especially

- Masters Degree
- Proficient and up-to-date knowledge of applicable Medicare and
Medicaid regulations for healthcare benefits
- Experience in a position requiring superior verbal, written and
presentation skills
- Experience in a position requiring solid influence,
collaboration and listening skills
- Solid working knowledge of business planning and
financial/underwriting acumen
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to navigate a complex organization to reach consensus
