Technician Job Description Quality Control Technicians are crucial
in ensuring product safety and quality by performing and
communicating necessary quality tests and analyses. This role
involves conducting sampling, inspection, and testing of incoming
materials, in-line samples, finished products, water, and the
environment to ensure they meet established quality standards. The
position supports other quality functions to achieve plant
objectives and involves shipping external samples, conducting
physical, sensory, and ingredient testing, and using lab
instrumentation such as XRF machines, FTIR, pH meters, and
conductivity meters. Responsibilities Conduct sampling, inspection,
and testing of materials, in-line samples, and finished products.
Perform water and environmental assessments for quality
conformance. Support other quality functions to meet plant
objectives. Ship external samples efficiently. Conduct physical,
sensory, and ingredient testing in-house. Operate lab
instrumentation, including XRF machines, FTIR, pH meters, and
conductivity meters. Utilize sieve shakers to assess product
purity. Essential Skills Experience in food manufacturing.
Proficiency in quality control and quality assurance processes.
Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Understanding of
Chemistry, Biology, and Microbiology. Experience with laboratory
equipment and physical lab testing (e.g., pH meter, XRF, FTIR).
Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biology,
Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Science
degree. Or a high school diploma with over 3 years of quality
assurance or lab experience, ideally in a food manufacturing
company. Reliable and proficient in basic testing procedures.
Interest in expanding testing capabilities and knowledge of ICP
mineral testing and microbiology. Job Type & Location This is a
Contract to Hire position based out of Eau Claire, WI. Pay and
Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
