Classification: Full Time, Exempt Work Location: Rochester, MN -
onsite POSITION SUMMARY: The EHS, Radiation Safety Technician, is
responsible for supporting general compliance of the EHS and
radiation safety programs at the manufacturing facility and promote
a safe and healthy work environment. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES –
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS): Support implementation of
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs in a
radiopharmaceutical manufacturing environment Conduct routine
safety inspections of production areas, QC labs, and support spaces
Identify hazards and assist with risk assessments and corrective
actions Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety
policies Assist with incident investigations , root cause analysis,
and corrective action tracking Maintain EHS documentation, permits,
and inspection records Support employee safety training (PPE,
chemical safety, hazard communication, emergency response) Perform
industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, air sampling, chemical
exposure as required) Managing chemical waste storage and disposal
program SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES – Radiation Safety: Support the
Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in day-to-day program execution
Conduct radiation surveys using portable detection instruments
Perform contamination monitoring of work areas, equipment, and
personnel Issue, collect, and manage personnel dosimetry (badges,
rings, etc.) Maintain records for radiation exposure, surveys, and
inventories Assist with radioactive material receipt, storage,
labeling, and disposal Verify compliance with NRC or Agreement
State regulations and license conditions Support sealed source leak
testing and inventory audits Respond to and document radiological
incidents or alarms Managing radioactive waste storage and disposal
program Provide radiation safety support to manufacturing and
laboratory operations QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s
degree in environmental health and safety or related field or
applicable work experience desired. 1-3 years of relevant
experience radiation safety, health physics, environmental health
and safety or related experience required. Knowledgeable in
State/Federal Radiation and EHS regulations and standards.
Experience in radiation detection and environmental monitoring
instruments. Previous experience in a laboratory setting. First
Aid/CPR/AED response experience preferred. Working knowledge in MS
Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) helpful. Demonstrated problem
solving skills. Proficient communication and organizational skills.
Excellent collaboration and team building skills. Demonstrates a
high level of accuracy, even under pressure. Highly thorough and
dependable. Maintains a high degree of professionalism. Seeks to
acquire knowledge in area of specialty. Demonstrated time
management and priority setting skills. Demonstrates a high
commitment to quality. Ability to work as a team member, socialize
ideas, and build successful working relationships. Ability to work
independently with minimal direction and drive deliverable through
to completion by deadlines provided. Highly organized with strong
attention to detail and commitment to high quality work. Ability to
routinely work off shift and weekend shifts with occasional
extended shifts. Mechanical aptitude required, manual dexterity for
manipulating small items; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to
handle frequent crawling, stooping, crouching, and kneeling. The
Fine Print: The salary range in Minnesota is $28.00- $35.00 per
hour. Please note that compensation may vary outside of this range
depending on several factors, including but not limited to a
candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and
location. Benefit packages for this role include medical, dental,
and vision insurance, as well as a Health Savings Account or
Flexible Spending Account options (depending on the plan chosen),
and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Team
